The Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Co. responded to several motor vehicle crashes (MVC) this week which resulted in victims being transported to area trauma centers.
Just after noon on August 25th the Fallston VFAC was alerted for a MVC at Bel Air Rd. and Reckord Rd. involving a commercial vehicle and 2 passenger vehicles. The call was quickly upgraded to a rescue assignment indicating that occupants were trapped in one of the vehicles. FVFAC and Bel Air VFC ambulances transported the patients to area trauma centers.
At 2215 hours on August 29th the FVFAC was dispatched to to the 2200 block of Bel Air Rd. for a multi-vehicle crash. On arrival, FVFAC personnel arrived to find a head on collision with four patients requiring transport to trauma centers. The FVFAC was assisted by Joppa-Magnolia VFC Medic 892 at this scene.
To close the week FVFAC was alerted shortly before 2200 hours for a MVC with rescue at Harford Rd. (Md. 147) and Mountain Rd. (Md. 152). Chief 13 (Will Rosenberg) arrived and confirmed the incident involved two vehicles with one patient trapped. Rescue 1351, Truck 1331, and Ambulance 1391 arrived and performed a rapid extrication of the driver of one vehicle, and transported the patient to an area trauma center.
As we begin the school year in the upcoming week, the FVFAC urges all drivers to use caution as we will see school buses and increased rush hour traffic on all area roadways. Please be attentive to your driving at all times. Remember-Distracted drivers are dangerous drivers!!
