The Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Co. has placed in service Brush 1341 and 1342, which are 2017 Ford F-350 4 x 4’s with WildFire Truck and Equipment skid units and a Warn 12000 lb. capacity winch. These WildFire brush units carry 250 gallons of water, are equipped with a Hale 200 B18 (240 gpm max.) pump driven by an 18 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, 150′ of 1″ booster line on a Hannay reel, and full LED Whelen warning and scene lighting. Brush 1341 is assigned to the Carrs Mill Rd Station and Brush 1342 is assigned to the Upper Crossroads Station.
Placing these units in service completes the first phase of apparatus upgrades for the FVFAC as recommended by the Apparatus Planning Committee Co-Chaired by Past Chief Officers Robert Stanton and Jon Martin in 2017. These recommendations resulted in the recent replacement/addition of Car 1303 (Deputy Chief), Brush 1341 and 1342, Utility 1371, Utility 1372, and EMS Utility 1399.
The Officers and Members of the FVFAC appreciate the work of the Committee, as well as that of the members who spent many hours planning the unit purchases, and preparing these units to be placed in service.
