The National Weather Service has issued a HIGH WIND WARNING for our area, effective from Friday morning through Saturday morning. The warning indicates that sustained winds of 40 mph may occur, with the possibility of wind gusts up to 70 mph. These conditions may cause widespread power outages, downed trees and power lines, and may make travel difficult for those operating high profile vehicles.
Always avoid downed electrical lines and use caution if operating a generator to supply emergency power during any utility outages .
If using a generator follow these safety suggestions:
1) Do not operate in an enclosed area.
2) Only use outdoors away from door and window openings.
3) Have a battery operated CO detector available in your house.
4) Allow the generator to cool for at least two minutes before refueling.
