The Charles W. Riley Community Service Scholarship Foundation encourages members of the Fire, EMS, and Rescue organizations serving Harford County communities to pursue courses that lead to a degree in fire service technology, emergency medical technology, fire service management, or public safety administration and related fields. The Foundation also recognizes high school seniors graduating from the 12 Harford County High Schools in their pursuit of higher education. All awardees are recognized for their community service, extracurricular activities, and leadership characteristics.
The 2021 Riley Scholarship recipient representing the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Co., Inc. is Billy Hayden. Billy joined the FVFAC in 2019, completed the accelerated Emergency Medical Technician course in the summer of 2019, and is now a Nationally Registered EMT. Previously, Billy earned his Eagle Scout rank in 2013, he has also worked during four summer seasons as a counselor overseeing elementary aged scouts at Camp Invention. Billy is currently attending High Point University, where he is a member of the Bonner Leader program providing volunteer community service in the High point, N.C. area each week. Billy’s academic plans include a major in Forensic Pathology.
Georgia Sento, a member of the 2021 graduating class at Fallston High School, was named the Charles Riley Scholarship winner for the Fallston High School. Georgia is a four year member of the FHS Cougar field hockey team and a two year member of the FHS swim team in addition to serving as manager for the men’s lacrosse team. She also is a member of the National, Science, and English Honor Societies in addition to her many and varied additional school clubs and activities.
The FVFAC appreciates the efforts of these members of our community, and their desire to continue with their education. CONGRATULATIONS to all of the awardees honored by the Charles Riley Scholarship Foundation!!!
