Fallston, MD – 12/5/2024 – The Fallston Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company (FVFAC) responded to a request for assistance from the Baltimore City Fire Department (BCFD) this evening as multiple alarms were triggered for a large-scale outside fire in the city.
Initially dispatched to cover calls for service in Baltimore City while BCFD units were engaged in battling a significant fire, Engine 1311 and its crew were assigned to provide much-needed relief as part of a multi-jurisdictional response. The fire, resulting in a three-alarm incident, prompted mutual aid from several surrounding jurisdictions and coordinated assistance from multiple city agencies.
As the situation escalated, Engine 1311 and its crew were re-assigned to the scene, where they assisted in active fire suppression operations. Chief 13 of FVFAC also responded to the scene.
After several hours of collaborative firefighting efforts, FVFAC units successfully cleared the scene and returned to Harford County after the fire was contained.
"Our crew was proud to be part of the coordinated multi-jurisdictional response, supporting our neighbors in Baltimore City during this significant fire incident in freezing temperatures," said Daniel McKinney, Chief of Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company. "We remain committed to providing mutual aid whenever necessary to ensure the safety of our communities."
The Baltimore City Fire Department is still investigating the fire. The appropriate authorities will provide further updates. |
